Lifestyle Tweaks

This is an incomplete post, published anyway on Aug 27, 2025.

I was telling Valerie how I used to have a lot of clutter about my living space, many many moons ago, long before I met her. She said that it was hard for her to imagine that, since I'm well organized now.

I've done a lot of lifestyle experiments over the years, big and small. I've intentionally not been too methodical about it, so that it doesn't feel oppresive. I've kept the changes that were blindingly obvious to be good ideas, but there were naturally a lot of things that weren't worth the hassle.

Being clutter free is one of the best habits I've cultivated. Who I was before that habit became an integral part of my life seems so alien to me now. That was someone else. I can't relate to him anymore.

But in this post, I'll focus on just some of the recent lifestyle experiments and changes I've made.

Racquetball

Some of my friends and I have started playing racquetball every week. We play intense games for about three hours, shower, sit in the sauna for a bit, shower again, and grab dinner nearby. All of us are hooked. It clears my head and makes me feel great.

Audiobooks

With Audible membership I've salvaged a lot of dead time, like when I'm on the way to a meeting, running errands, or feeling too tired to do anything else after a long day of work.

Quitting Reddit

I quit Facebook, Twitter and other social networks a long time ago. Recently I cut out Reddit. Best decison ever.
